My Tarot/Oracle Deck Collection from Best to Worst

1/23/2020

ATTENTION TAROT NEWBIES! Confused about which deck would be the most beginner friendly to start with? How about some suggestions on which decks are NOT so great to start with? Here is a new video of my own personal tarot and oracle deck collection, my favorites listed from best to worst, complete with a few newbie tarot tips. I hope this helps!

I don't have an extensive deck collection, but I have a nice basis going. Some I use every now and then, some I have gotten as gifts, some I am planning to use but haven't used yet, some I'm not so sure if I'll ever use, some I hate, and some that I just can't get enough of! Here is my list from Favorite to Despised LOL.  (1 being the best, 7 is the worst)

Please let me know of any other tarot material you'd like me to cover on my channel :-) And if you enjoy this material, don't forget to comment, rate, subscribe, and SHARE!

1. Joie De Vivre

Hands down my FAVORITE deck. This is the one you see all over my feed. It's bright, whimsical, colorful, playful, fun, and it totally goes with my style. It follows concepts and illustrations of the traditional rider-waite pretty closely, so it keeps it easy to read.

2. The Original Rider Waite

I officially learned on this deck in a class that I took with @krystenhansyn, who made it super easy to interpret the cards based on their illustrations, colors, landscapes, weather, symbols, etc. The Rider Waite was the first deck to give even the pip and court cards their own illustrations, and this really makes it easier to read intuitively for beginners! If you're just starting out, GET THIS DECK!

3. The Wildwood Tarot

This deck was a Christmas gift to myself last year. As I started getting more into the Wheel of the Year and the changing of the seasons, I found this one, which really spoke to me. This one comes with its own complex system corresponding to the different seasons. This is reminiscent of the traditional Rider Waite tarot, but put its own celtic-shamanic seasonal spin on it, and I just thought the Woodland creatures were just enchanting and gorgeous. I haven't done any actual readings with this YET, but am enjoying studying its unique and complex system!

4. Osho Zen Tarot

This one is advertised as a "Tarot" deck, but I feel like it's half tarot and half oracle. It has 79 cards as opposed to the 78 of traditional tarot. This one is SUPER colorful, and gives some very profound and meditative answers. These cards are great to meditate and journal with, but I don't like using them to read for others. I do more inner work with these...

5. Chakra Wisdom Oracle

This one I have only used a handful of times. It was a secret santa gift, so it doesn't resonate with me. I probably would have never bought this one for myself. I really love the cards and have done a few readings with them, but haven't connected with them on a deeper level. They also come with their own color coded system corresponding with the different chakras, which I just haven't taken the time to learn yet.

6. Deviant Tarot

This one was a gift from my brother. It also came with an AWESOME coffee table book. Although I think this is by far one of the most artistically creative decks that I own, it's my least favorite to actually READ with. I have not done any readings with these yet, and not sure if I ever will - The imagery just does not resonate with me intuitively. These are mainly a conversation piece for me. I do love them though. Maybe one day I'll read with them, we'll see.

7. Tarot de Marseille

This was very first deck I ever owned. I bought it for myself at a hole in the wall book shop that has since gone extinct. It came in a kit with a little booklet and a purple wrap cloth. The Major Arcana & Court Cards are all in french and the PIP cards are like numbered playing cards, not illustrations.- which makes it super hard for the tarot beginner to learn with. This is the worst possible deck for beginners, don't even touch it if you're just starting out - or ever.. I hate this deck lol. I still have it for other things, I've used them in many a photo project - but I don't like actually reading with these... at all.
