Witchin’ Kitchen | Homemade Tomato Sauce (Recipe) Hey you lovely little kitchen witches! Today I will be showing you a very simple recipe that I made with the lovely tomato that Adrienne Crombie of Mad Lavender Farm in Milford, NJ, had given me upon my visit a couple weekends ago! You can view the Vlog of my visit there HERE! The tomato started to soften quite a bit, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to use it, but upon further inspection after cutting it up, it was quite fine inside to purpose into a lovely and simple little tomato sauce, which is what I’ll be showing you how to make today! Hey, if it’s not moldy and doesn’t smell bad… then it’s fair game! As I mention in the video, Italians don’t waste food! Hahah! SO in this video I figured I’d take it back to my Sicilian roots a bit, and add some shrimp to the dish. THIS STEP IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL! Not everyone likes seafood, and some people are even deathly allergic, so please just taylor this dish to your own personal dietary needs or restrictions! You do not have to add the shrimp! You can also add other things if you’d like, like zucchini, or eggplant… the veggie route is just fine! I just have a weakness for seafood as I also mention in the video… I grew up eating it a lot. The Mediterranean diet is one of the best diets there are. Sicilians tend to eat a lot from the sea, since it is in fact an island. They’re surrounded by the beautiful water and make use of the gifts that the water gives to them on a daily basis. Everything prepared in true Sicilian cuisine is fresh, usually picked from the garden or caught from the sea, that same day! The Mad Lavender Farm Vlog Hey my little magickal beings! Sorry it took me a little while to get this Vlog posted… I had to do some recap footage to conclude the experience, and it took a little longer than expected to get it shot, and then edited. Anyway! I had attended this little Lammas Celebration at the Mad Lavender Farm in Milford, New Jersey on August 13, 2016. When I had found this event scheduled on Meetup.com, it was originally scheduled for August 1, which is when Lammas is traditionally celebrated, but then it had gotten rained out, so it was rescheduled for August 13. I mean that is fine with me, sometimes in our daily lives, we have too many things going on and as they say “shit happens”, so not everyone will always get to celebrate on the exact holiday.. that is perfectly fine. Do what is right for you, and best for your schedule, and sometimes mother nature just makes up her own rules, so why shouldn’t we be allowed to? Hahaha! (I’m the type that celebrates my birthday for the whole month… so why should any other celebration be any different?!) So, this was a very lovely day. What had started off as a semi awkward adventure, getting a bit lost, not knowing where to park, showing up and no one else really being there, going into a situation we knew very little about, and even being a bit skeptical as far as what to expect. This video is the perfect example of fear, and coming out of it on the other side. Sometimes when we go into a brand new situation, with strangers, we fear the unknown. Sometimes there is no reason to even be afraid, but the fear is there to try to protect us from potentially dangerous situations, even when there is no imminent danger or real threat. We didn’t know what to expect, and we were definitely a bit uneasy about getting outside of our comfort zone. I have always been very naturally drawn to earthy spiritual paths, but I have always been turned off by any sort of gathering or congregation (I think my catholic upbringing gave me some PTSD LOL). Being a solitary spiritual seeker, I am very used to kind of just appreciating the earth in my own little ways, so going into a celebration like this was definitely a bit intimidating. However, this was one of those experiences that I had a feeling I would be so grateful for once I had actually gone through with it, and I must admit, I am so glad that we had. We had the opportunity to share some space in a loving environment with 2 new great people who put so much love and hard work into their lovely piece of land and the things that they grow. Thanks to Adrienne and Don for teaching us a little bit about your paths, and enabling us to release our fears into the fire! It was most magickal! And your goats are lovely too! My Book of Shadows Hello my magickal little beings!! Thanks so much for coming to visit me today! Come real close, because I have to show you something very secret… something that I have held so near and dear to my heart for so long and am finally starting to utilize! That’s right, my little faery friends! It’s my BOOK OF SHADOWS! This homemade grimoire is a magickal place where I will store all of my witchy little potions, recipes, concoctions, and studies regarding things that interest me greatly: the sun, moon, stars, herbs, tarot, candles, essential oil blends, remedies, runes, crystals, healing, spells, recipes, tea, palmistry, mystery, magic, and more! I figured this video would give you ideas on some ways you can repurpose your own old books. You can upcycle old thrifted books, especially if the library is throwing some away! In the video I talk a lot about the bloggers and vloggers who have really inspired me to get a move on this magickal book… so here they are with all of their links to their pages. Hummus-Pesto Chicken Salad Recipe Hello my fellow Kitchen Witches! In this video, I will be showing you how to use some of the ingredients you might have in your fridge to create a delicious and fresh tasting lunch, using just a few herbs from my garden! I had some roasted chicken for dinner the other night, and I decided to spruce it up with some hummus, fresh garden basil, olive oil, salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley! I used the hummus as a substitute for mayonnaise, it just tastes fresher and it’s so much healthier as well, as hummus is made from chick peas! I also used almonds as a substitute for pine nuts because that’s all I had on hand, but definitely feel free to use the pine nuts, or whatever else you have on hand to give your pesto that nutty flavor! Also if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, feel free to substitute the chicken with your veggie options. Cooking is all about tailoring it to your own specific tastes! That is true kitchen magick! I hope you enjoy this recipe! If you do try it out and make a video, please send me a “Video Response”… I know YT did away with those, lame.. but put this in your Video Title: “VR to Bohemian Magic: Hummus-Pesto Chicken Salad Recipe and then post your video link as a comment under this video! doTERRA July 2016 LRP Order Unboxing I’m so very excited to bring you this video and share even more my most recent passion and obsession: doTERRA Essential Oils! In this video, I will be unboxing my July 2016 LRP (Loyalty Rewards Points) Order. As a doTerra wellness advocate, and with my yearly membership, I save TONS of money on oils and all natural bath and body/household cleaning products with my wholesale membership alone. For every $100 I spend, I get 10 points back to rack up and redeem for FREE OILS! It is just $35 for the year to receive your wholesale membership and wellness advocate status. This membership includes your very own retail page to sell the doTerra products at retail price, and you will receive a small commission from each product you sell on that page! The products I have unboxed in today’s videos are the following: The Family Essentials Kit (previously the Family Physician’s Kit) – If you enroll with this kit, the $35 membership fee is waived! You still receive your retail sales pages, get this kit, PLUS an additional 2 freebies: 1 bottle of immune boosting On Guard blend beadlets, and 1 bottle of Peppermint Beadlets. The oils included in this Family Essentials kit are:
This is just one great enrollments kit, but there are many other enrollment kits available, prices vary depending on your budget. The next kit up actually comes with a petal diffuser. Anyway the next bunch of products I will be reviewing in this video are : doTerra’s Natural Deodorant to replace store-bought chemical ridden deodorants and talcum powders that are filled with parabens, talc and aluminums. doTerra all natural deodorant is made with various waxes and oils, and nothing else. I also ordered the fragrance free lotion which is amazingly silky and non residual. You can use the essential oils to scent the deodorant and lotion. You can use certain oils, depending on your sex. My personal favorite is the “Whisper” Blend for Women which I will be using in this video It has a nice powdery and floral scent which might be more appealing to females. If you are a male and you want a more earth or woodsy scent, you could probably get away with not using oils to scent it at all, since the oils used in the making of the deodorant (cedar wood, patchouli), already carry an earthy and woodsy scent which is more ideal for a male. I will also be unboxing the In Tune blend that comes in a roll on. You can use this topically on your pressure points to keep you focused while you are working hard on your projects. You can roll on your wrists, behind your ears, on your temples, on your third eye chakra. This also has a very woodsy scent. It contains frankincense, patchouli, west indian sandalwood, cedar and few others, to help keep you focused. Terrashield – Bug Repellent – great natural replacement for chemical aerosol bug sprays! Lastly, I ordered some Clarysage which is great for female hormone balancing, cramps, and other issues having to do with the female reproductive system. This oil can really help soothe you while you’re on your monthly moon cycle. This bottle does have supplemental facts, so the doTerra certified therapeutic grade label does allow you to ingest. You can put some in an empty gelcap and take as a supplement, or put a drop under your tongue, or even in your herbal tea to aid in soothing. FDA disclaimer: “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.” If you are interested in purchasing any of the products you saw in today’s video or interested in a doTERRA year membership so you can save big bucks on your oils through wholesale pricing (25% off retail price all year long!) and even have the opportunity to make some extra income sharing these magickal oils, email me personally at: [email protected] Buy oils from me on my retail page! Lammas Baby Wreath Ornament (Witchy Craft Tutorial) Hello Witchy Women! First off, let me apologize for being a day late with this upload! So many things to do, so little time.. but better late than never, right? Also it is perfectly ok that we still celebrate this wonderful first harvest all month long as we gather and prepare our mason jars with fruits, pickled veggies, flowers, herbs, etc. before it all withers away in just another month and a half or so. Anyway! In this video, I give a little bit of backstory behind Lammas (Lughnasadh, the first harvest of the pagan wheel of the year. I also include my own little take on the theories as to how I associate the greek goddess Persephone with this bountiful harvest witchy holiday. I hope you enjoy that, as well as my tutorial on how to make the cute little pentacle wreath with yellow, orange, and green ribbons! It took a little practice, but it’s a very easy “no mess, no fuss” craft that you can do with just a few supplies, and NO glue gun! If you liked this video, please give me a thumbs up!
