Lavender Rose Cranberry Cornbread Recipe Hello You Magickal Beings! Thanks so much once again for joining me in another episode of Witchin’ Kitchen! Today I am following a Cornbread Recipe pretty closely, from Francesca Lia Block’s latest book “Fairies in the Kitchen” Cookbook. I did a review video on that book as well, which you can view HERE! I have made a few additions to her recipe, as a matter of fact… my recent visit to the Mad Lavender Farm (Vlog available to watch here!) has inspired me to get a bit more creative with the very basic recipe that I had used from that book. I thought it would be tons of fun to add some lavender buds, rose petals from my garden, and some dried cranberries to add a bit of tart! It is totally safe to use flowers in your food, as long as they are 100% organic, NOT from the florist, because those contain very harmful pesticides. It’s best to grow the flowers you use in your recipes, in your own garden, or pick them from a farm that doesn’t use pesticides either. Pick up your copy here! The Mad Lavender Farm Vlog Hey my little magickal beings! Sorry it took me a little while to get this Vlog posted… I had to do some recap footage to conclude the experience, and it took a little longer than expected to get it shot, and then edited. Anyway! I had attended this little Lammas Celebration at the Mad Lavender Farm in Milford, New Jersey on August 13, 2016. When I had found this event scheduled on Meetup.com, it was originally scheduled for August 1, which is when Lammas is traditionally celebrated, but then it had gotten rained out, so it was rescheduled for August 13. I mean that is fine with me, sometimes in our daily lives, we have too many things going on and as they say “shit happens”, so not everyone will always get to celebrate on the exact holiday.. that is perfectly fine. Do what is right for you, and best for your schedule, and sometimes mother nature just makes up her own rules, so why shouldn’t we be allowed to? Hahaha! (I’m the type that celebrates my birthday for the whole month… so why should any other celebration be any different?!) So, this was a very lovely day. What had started off as a semi awkward adventure, getting a bit lost, not knowing where to park, showing up and no one else really being there, going into a situation we knew very little about, and even being a bit skeptical as far as what to expect. This video is the perfect example of fear, and coming out of it on the other side. Sometimes when we go into a brand new situation, with strangers, we fear the unknown. Sometimes there is no reason to even be afraid, but the fear is there to try to protect us from potentially dangerous situations, even when there is no imminent danger or real threat. We didn’t know what to expect, and we were definitely a bit uneasy about getting outside of our comfort zone. I have always been very naturally drawn to earthy spiritual paths, but I have always been turned off by any sort of gathering or congregation (I think my catholic upbringing gave me some PTSD LOL). Being a solitary spiritual seeker, I am very used to kind of just appreciating the earth in my own little ways, so going into a celebration like this was definitely a bit intimidating. However, this was one of those experiences that I had a feeling I would be so grateful for once I had actually gone through with it, and I must admit, I am so glad that we had. We had the opportunity to share some space in a loving environment with 2 new great people who put so much love and hard work into their lovely piece of land and the things that they grow. Thanks to Adrienne and Don for teaching us a little bit about your paths, and enabling us to release our fears into the fire! It was most magickal! And your goats are lovely too! Lammas Baby Wreath Ornament (Witchy Craft Tutorial) Hello Witchy Women! First off, let me apologize for being a day late with this upload! So many things to do, so little time.. but better late than never, right? Also it is perfectly ok that we still celebrate this wonderful first harvest all month long as we gather and prepare our mason jars with fruits, pickled veggies, flowers, herbs, etc. before it all withers away in just another month and a half or so. Anyway! In this video, I give a little bit of backstory behind Lammas (Lughnasadh, the first harvest of the pagan wheel of the year. I also include my own little take on the theories as to how I associate the greek goddess Persephone with this bountiful harvest witchy holiday. I hope you enjoy that, as well as my tutorial on how to make the cute little pentacle wreath with yellow, orange, and green ribbons! It took a little practice, but it’s a very easy “no mess, no fuss” craft that you can do with just a few supplies, and NO glue gun! If you liked this video, please give me a thumbs up!
