Salt Dough Sun Craft Project (For Litha) Part 1&2

LIKE MY VIDEOS? PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

Hello My Magickal Beings!!
I wanted to share a very magickal craft project with you all today because we are right in time for LITHA, aka the Midsummer Solstice!!

Litha is the longest day of the year when the solar energies are at their most heightened state. The power of nature is strong, everything is in bloom and flourishing and ripening on their vines to prepare for Lammas (harvesting festival)!

In this video, I thought it would be fun to celebrate the solstice by honoring the sun with this cute little salt dough sun craft project for Litha, which is one of the projects pinned in my pinterest board for Litha!

View my whole Litha Pinterest board HERE!

I am using the Salt Dough recipe from the Ozark Pagain Mamma!

It’s a very simple recipe with only 3 ingredients:
Salt, Flour & Water! You’ll also need some small bowls to use as stencils to cut our your circle shapes. You can get curly handle utensils, just like the one I used to make the sun’s rays here!
Also if you would like to get in the spirit for Litha, here is a super informative book that has some amazing rituals, recipes, lore, spells, divination, crafts, correspondences, invocations, prayers and meditations. It’s called Llewellyn’s Sabbat Esstentials: Midsummer Rituals, Recipes, & Lore for Litha! I did a complete review on this book which you can watch HERE!

So after your sun plaque and ornaments are baked, you can paint them! Please watch part 2 of this video above,  to join me as we paint and glitter our suns for Litha! For the painting of the sun, here are the following supplies that I used:

All of the paints that I used are from Liquitex:
Cadmium Yellow Medium (Base Color on Body)
Cadmium Red Light (Shading Wash on Base /Around Face/in Swirls)
Also Cad Red Light on Cheeks
Burnt Umber Deeper Shade in Crevices Throughout
Ultramarine Blue (Green Shade) for Eye Pupils
White Paint for eye sockets

I mentioned Acra Crimson in the video, but I actually only ended up using that color for the ornaments, and not on the sun plaque.

I also used fine pink glitter and the ribbons and glitter pens, I just bought from the dollar store!

Bohemian Magic Studios Presents
My Altar Tour for Litha

Hello You Magickal Beings!!

I know I’m a few days late on this, but I still wanted to upload it because I spent a lot of time filming and editing it! Also, my actual day of Litha, which was June 21 for us in the Northern Hemisphere, was INSANE! It was action packed… I spent the weeks leading up to in, in preparation for it, and then the actual day of, I worked all day, and then got home at 4 pm only to prep more for it, lol. So I didn’t have as much time all month than I would have liked, to produce all the videos I had originally wanted to for it.

I also had some other recipes I wanted to do, and I even did do another craft and quick solstice wine recipe that will be in my next video that I’ll be posting in the next day or so. That will be my Litha vlog, which will contain all of the fun things I did ON the midsummer solstice this year.

Anyway, this video is better late than never! Also I’d like to cite a few of the references and things that you see IN This video so that I can better inform you about where I obtained them, or learned the information that I am supplying you with!

*The glittery sun plaque displayed on my altar is a homemade craft project that I made out of salt dough, and then painted with acrylic paints and glitter. I did a 2 part video series on these which you can find here…

Part 1 (Baking)
Part 2 (Painting)

*The Oracle cards used on my altar are from the Chakra Oracle deck by Tori Hartman, which can be purchased here

(NOT an affiliate link)
*The small anise candle in front of the sun plaque was gifted to me by my dear friend Dena Miller from the Youtube Channel @MiladyLeela

*The Viking Boat craft project and crystal/herb/flower correspondences came from Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials MIDSUMMER book which I did a review on, you can view that here!

Music is “The Poisoned Princess” by Media Right Productions from the Youtube Creator’s Library.

LLEWELLYN’S SABBAT ESSENTIALS BOOK REVIEW (LITHA)

Bohemian Magic Studios Presents
Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials Book Review (Litha)

Hello Magickal Beings!

Happy June and Midsummer Solstice to you all! Join me in my magickal garden today, as I have a very lovely book to share with you all, in preparation for LITHA which is our midsummer solstice sabbat on the wiccan/pagan wheel of the year!

The magickal book that I am covering today is called Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials Midsummer: Rituals, Recipes & Lore for Litha.

Here is a small description about the book:
“A celebration of the sun, fire, and the bounty of the land. Midsummer – also known as the Summer Solstice or Litha – is a time to rejoice in abundance and light. This guide to the history and modern celebration of Midsummer shows you how to work with the energy of the longest day of the year.”
In this video I will review the different sections and subjects that the book has to offer: Rituals, recipes, lore, spells, divination, crafts, correspondences, invocations, prayers, and meditations."

I will also show you a beautiful diagram of the wheel and give you some context about its position on the wheel in relation to the other sabbats throughout the year. I will also distinguish for you, the difference of sabbats between the northern and southern hemispheres. We will then chat about some of the mystical lore behind the tradition, including the battle between the mighty Oak King and Holly King. One has to die for the other to rule for the other half of the year. Which will it be?

Also, we will talk about the origins of the name Litha. It’s not as ancient of a name as we think! Perhaps it was made famous by a little epic hobbit trilogy? haha! Watch to find out!

Also here are some of the links that I talk about within the video!

* I am not affiliated with Llewellyn Publishing or Amazon in any way. I’m simply just loving this book and relaying the information if you are interested!

You can purchase this book on Amazon here for $11.99!

I am doing a GIVEAWAY on my Instagram account for a FREE 6 Card Litha Sun Tarot Reading like the one displayed in this book, once I get to my first 1000 followers! I am at 950 now, so you still have time to enter, go enter now!

PICKING STRAWBERRIES FOR THE STRAWBERRY MOON (ALSTEDE FARMS CHESTER, NJ)

Bohemian Magic Studios Presents

Strawberry Picking for the Strawberry Full Moon

Hello Magickal Beings!
I hope you are having a lovely June so far! I’ve been feeling SUPER fiery and bursting with creative energy as of lately, so I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate those feelings and put them back into my work. This includes video projects and fun things surrounding the seasonal cycles including the sabbats of the wheel of the year, and the esbats which are more based around the cycles of the moon.

Most of you may know that the full moon that had just passed this past weekend, was the Strawberry Moon.

According to Almanac.com:
“June’s Full Strawberry Moon got its name because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe and the Honey Moon. This June, the Moon is officially full the morning of Friday, June 9, so the Moon will still appear full the day prior and after the peak.”

Did you know that this Mini (or Apogee) Moon occurs only once every year in June, when the Moon’s orbit takes it further away from Earth. During that time, the Moon appears 14% smaller in the sky than it does when it is a Mega (or Perigee) Moon.

So how are YOU celebrating this beautiful Strawberry Moon? I celebrated by going Strawberry picking with my fiancé.

In this video, we visit the Strawberry patches of Alstede Farms in Chester, NJ. They had everything from farm animals, to live music, hayrides, a farmer’s market, wine tasting, and a little country store with farm fresh baked goods and preserves. Of course I couldn’t help myself and picked up a bottle of “Summer Solstice” wine. I definitely plan on cracking that open on June 21 (Litha aka Summer Solstice or Midsummer).

Also, it might be a great idea for those creating a Litha or Midsummer altar, to leave a little strawberry juice for the fae, as they LOVE sweet nectars and magickal elixirs!

Have you ever picked your own strawberries? I’d love to hear about it! Tell me all about your experience in the comments!

For more information on the Strawberry Moon, please check out this almanac!

NATIVE DEODORANT (UNBOXING & REVIEW)

Bohemian Magic Presents
MAGICKAL DEODORANT! (NATIVE Unboxing & Review)

Hello Magickal Beings!!!
I am SO excited to finally be bringing you this video! If you have watched some of my earlier doTERRA oil videos and unboxings, you would know that the armpit struggle is REAL! Last year I made the switch from store bought deodorant, to ALL NATURAL. I was using the doTERRA nature stick, and I was extremely less than pleased about it. I would sweat through it, I would smell my own sweat through it, I would still feel sweaty and gross, and it was just not a pleasant feeling in the heat of the summer. So I was very curious when I saw the ad for this new al natural deodorant, creeping on my Facebook. I decided that I would give it a try!

Here is my HONEST review on NATIVE DEODORANT (all natural!) The sticks that I will be covering in this video are in the sample pack box (which are still FULL SIZED BARS!) So I thought that was a great bargain in it of itself.
Picture
The bars that come in this sample pack are:

*Original Unscented (which you can also just add scent to yourself if you want to. I scent this one with doTERRA’s Whisper or Passion oils.) If you are interested in purchasing any of those oils, please email me at [email protected]!

*Lavender & Rose – this is a nice spring fresh clean scent and more feminine!
*Coconut Vanilla – Hands down my favorite one! It smells like a pina colada if you love that more tropical scent. It’s great to wear on a day at the beach! (This one does contain some “fragrance” which I touch on in the video.

ARE THEY REALLY ALL NATURAL?
I really wanted to comb through the ingredients just to make sure it was all natural, and any ingredients that I didn’t understand the names of, I did my own research just to make sure these fancy words were in fact all natural. I encourage you to do the same. Native Deodorant ingredients contain the following:

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides. * A mixture derived from coconut oil and glycerin. It comes in the form of an oily liquid, and is sometimes mistakenly referred to as fractionated coconut oil. Caprylic mainly works as an emollient, dispersing agent and solvent.

Sodium bicarbonate is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO₃. It is a salt composed of sodium ions and bicarbonate ions. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder.

PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is the polyethylene glycol derivatives of hydrogenated castor oil, and is an amber colored, slightly viscous liquid that has a naturally mildly fatty odor. It is used in cosmetics and beauty products as an emulsifier, surfactant, and fragrance ingredient, according to research.

Acidophilus is a microorganism (often called a ‘probiotic’) from the Lactobacillus family of natural bacteria. Its full name is Lactobacillus acidophilus, or L. acidophilus for short. Acidophilus has been well-researched in areas such as digestive health and immunity.

Dextrose is he dextrorotatory form of glucose (and the predominant naturally occurring form).

Natural Surfactant Enhancer (Glyceryl Caprylate Caprate) is a 100% natural thickener for water based cleansing products. It is made from, 100% renewable sources, through the esterification of glycerin from vegetable oil sources and medium chain fatty acids of coconut and / or palm kernel oil.

About GLYCERYL UNDECYLENATE: Glyceryl Undecylenate is an ester of glycerin and undecylenic acid. Function(s): Skin-Conditioning Agent – Emollient; Surfactant – Emulsifying Agent; SKIN CONDITIONING.

The Coconut Vanilla Bar contains an ingredient simply labeled as “Fragrance”.

Now, I found the term “Fragrance” to be very vague. What is this Fragrance made of, is it synthetic? Why weren’t the fragrances used in the product, listed out in the ingredients? Well my curiosity took it upon herself to contact Native’s product support.

They replied with this explanation:
” Our scented deodorants include a proprietary blend of oils. Due to FDA recommendations, we use the term “fragrance” to refer to these oils.”

They do insist that these hyperallergenic oils are all natural, but it still makes me wonder what this propietary blend is. Please watch this video to find out what they had to say about all of that in greater detail! And again, please do your own research as well, when choosing your bath and body products!

Here is a great article on why companies are not required to tell you what ingredients make up the”fragrance”!

Aside from the “fragrance” marking, everything else seems to check out ok! It has absolutely NO parabens, NO talc, NO aluminum, NO propylene glycol, and NO phthalates! That sounds good in my book! It has taken me a couple years to really find an ALL natural deodorant that I could really get behind and be excited about, and NATIVE deodorant is definitely IT! I can say that with confidence
