Hello Loves!
In today's video, I will take you over to my parents house because it is time to harvest the tomatoes and jar some sauce for the winter! This is always a fun family activity that gets everyone involved! I would like to introduce to you my Nonna Giuseppina. I remember sitting in her kitchen as a young child and watching her cook! She would make vats of pasta to feed an army, and I would help her bread and fry some fresh garden vegetables that she would pick right from her own backyard. Summer always brings back the fondest memories of tending to the garden and using its fresh gifts to cook with family. Come join me and the famigilia, and see how we harvest our tomatoes, jar our sauce, and just enjoy being in the kitchen together, making a mess and laughing a lot! Introducing My Familiar | Coraline turns 1 year old Hello Magickal Beings! So I wanted to take this time to introduce to you my little Familiar, Miss kitty Coraline Jones! I started off this video with the intention of doing a more educational dialogue about the Witch's Familiar and what exactly that is, the benefits of the Familiar, etc.... But then I realized that I never actually took the time to dedicate a video to introducing my own personal familiar. My magickal kitty Coraline is turning 1 YEAR OLD on March 27 and it feels like just yesterday that I got a random text from my good friend Sabrina, about a litter of kittens her grandmother's cat had. What an adventure this past year has been with her by my side! It is hard to imagine what life was like before her.. well... it was kind of boring and lonely! Yes I do live with my husband, but he works during the day, and I am a freelancer that works from home in the daytime. I was starting to feel very lonely and isolated and sometimes depressed with no human interaction during my workdays, and Coraline has helped me so much with that! Anyway, here is a little video I made to celebrate her! I hope you enjoy watching her silly little antics, and seeing what cute a kitten she was! And if you still do want that more in depth educational video about the history of the witch's familiar, and how they can be used to aid in your magick, definitely let me know in the comments below, and I'll be sure to make another video on the subject! Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to be with me today! A HUGE thanks to my Patrons for the support! Megan Baker Dee Carubia JOIN ME ON PATREON! The Making of My Magickal Apothecary Cabinet Hello Magickal Beings!! Today I want to take you behind the scenes of a very special project that I had been working on for the past year or so. I found a magickal wooden armoire for FREE on the side of the road and I just KNEW I had to have it! I just had to find a way to get it home! Once I managed to get it home with the help of my parents, it stayed on the front porch collecting dust for the better part of the year, while we settled into our new home and took care of more important projects. Once the summer of 2019 rolled around, I was feeling like I was ready to take this on! I just want to give my mom and hubbie a huge thanks for helping wipe it down, sand it, prime it, spray paint it, find the hardware, add the hardware, and move it into it's current home in my little Bohemian Magic Studios HQ (which is just a small bedroom where I will be conducting my BMS Business)! This project should have taken maybe a week or so, but I really took my time with it because life just gets in the way sometimes! The whole project from start to finish, once I got started, spanned from the end of July, to the end of September... so about 2 months. I'm really in love with how it came out, and I can't wait to show you all of the little treasures that I filled it with (which you can see at the end of this video) I hope you enjoy watching this magickal transformation as much as I enjoyed documenting and working through the process! If you like this video, please be sure to give it a thumbs up, comment, rate, subscribe, and most importantly hit that bell for notifications every time I upload a new video! Thank you and have a magickal day! Justina xoxo SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MEGAN BAKER - MY FIRST PATRON and Executive Producer of this video! JOIN ME ON MY CREATIVE JOURNEY AND SUPPORT MY WORK ON PATREON! Goat Yoga at Mad Lavender Farm Hello Magickal Beings! Welcome Back to another magickal vlog at Mad Lavender Farm! My friend Jenn joins Avi and I for some goat yoga, courtesy of Wildflower SUP & Yoga. We had some much laughing and coddling baby goats. After Goat Yoga, we parted ways with Jenn, and decided to stick around to check out Adrienne’s new Apothecary hut where she sells all of her homemade goods made with the lavender from her whimsical farm. There’s just something so magickal about this place, we just love visiting whenever we can. As we headed home my allergies started acting up so it was time for a cup of tea. Join me as I drink my tea and review some of the yummy products we bought from the farm. We got a Lavender Mint Vanilla candle and some Black Amber and Lavender Soap. Midsummer Solstice Vlog (Craft Project & Recipe Included for Litha!) Hello You Magickal Beings! I know, this video is a bit “after the fact”, but the past week or so since Litha has been INSANE! I’ve been working a lot, planning a wedding, and working on building my Instagram page, which has been pretty successful! I reached my first 1000 followers on there, and have even upped my subscriber count right here on my Youtube channel because of it, so I am super stoked and just want to thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart, for all of your support! Now here is my Litha Vlog, so you can see what I was up to on this past June 21, 2017 – aka the Midsummer Solstice. In this video you’ll get to go for a little drive with me so I can tell you all about the wonderful plans I have for the rest of this day! You’ll also get to watch my cute little game of tag that I had with a butterfly! So in this Vlog, I reference various other videos and vlogs that I have released in the past month or so regarding Litha. I will link you guys to them here, as well as through the info cards in the actual video. In this video, I show you how to make a little Viking Boat with a craft project that I got from the book “Midsummer” by Llewellyn Sabbat Essentials. All you need are some popsicle sticks, the bottom of a wine cork, a stick, and a couple pieces of construction paper to make it. The origins of this project stems from the Vikings as well as some other cultures, who used to make midsummer pilgrimages to bodies of water. They would send off their hopes and dreams along with flower or candle offerings on these tiny boats, into the sunset. You can watch my complete tutorial in this video, and also my complete book review from where I got this idea HERE! I also make some midsummer solstice wine. I made the recipe up myself and the “Midsummer Solstice” wine that I used was from the winery at Alstede Farms, which I got when we went Strawberry picking for the Full Strawberry Moon. Watch that Vlog Here! Also come along with me on my own little pilgrimage to my local park so I can do my little Litha Ritual with the Viking Boat offering that I made myself! Thanks so much for watching! I hope you all had a very blessed Litha and Midsummer Solstice! Blessed Be! GET IN THE MIDSUMMER MOOD WITH MY LITHA SPOTIFY PLAYLIST! Justina xoxo Bohemian Magic Studios Presents Strawberry Picking for the Strawberry Full Moon Hello Magickal Beings! I hope you are having a lovely June so far! I’ve been feeling SUPER fiery and bursting with creative energy as of lately, so I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate those feelings and put them back into my work. This includes video projects and fun things surrounding the seasonal cycles including the sabbats of the wheel of the year, and the esbats which are more based around the cycles of the moon. Most of you may know that the full moon that had just passed this past weekend, was the Strawberry Moon. According to Almanac.com: “June’s Full Strawberry Moon got its name because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe and the Honey Moon. This June, the Moon is officially full the morning of Friday, June 9, so the Moon will still appear full the day prior and after the peak.” Did you know that this Mini (or Apogee) Moon occurs only once every year in June, when the Moon’s orbit takes it further away from Earth. During that time, the Moon appears 14% smaller in the sky than it does when it is a Mega (or Perigee) Moon. So how are YOU celebrating this beautiful Strawberry Moon? I celebrated by going Strawberry picking with my fiancé. In this video, we visit the Strawberry patches of Alstede Farms in Chester, NJ. They had everything from farm animals, to live music, hayrides, a farmer’s market, wine tasting, and a little country store with farm fresh baked goods and preserves. Of course I couldn’t help myself and picked up a bottle of “Summer Solstice” wine. I definitely plan on cracking that open on June 21 (Litha aka Summer Solstice or Midsummer). Also, it might be a great idea for those creating a Litha or Midsummer altar, to leave a little strawberry juice for the fae, as they LOVE sweet nectars and magickal elixirs! Have you ever picked your own strawberries? I’d love to hear about it! Tell me all about your experience in the comments! For more information on the Strawberry Moon, please check out this almanac! The Mad Lavender Farm Vlog Hey my little magickal beings! Sorry it took me a little while to get this Vlog posted… I had to do some recap footage to conclude the experience, and it took a little longer than expected to get it shot, and then edited. Anyway! I had attended this little Lammas Celebration at the Mad Lavender Farm in Milford, New Jersey on August 13, 2016. When I had found this event scheduled on Meetup.com, it was originally scheduled for August 1, which is when Lammas is traditionally celebrated, but then it had gotten rained out, so it was rescheduled for August 13. I mean that is fine with me, sometimes in our daily lives, we have too many things going on and as they say “shit happens”, so not everyone will always get to celebrate on the exact holiday.. that is perfectly fine. Do what is right for you, and best for your schedule, and sometimes mother nature just makes up her own rules, so why shouldn’t we be allowed to? Hahaha! (I’m the type that celebrates my birthday for the whole month… so why should any other celebration be any different?!) So, this was a very lovely day. What had started off as a semi awkward adventure, getting a bit lost, not knowing where to park, showing up and no one else really being there, going into a situation we knew very little about, and even being a bit skeptical as far as what to expect. This video is the perfect example of fear, and coming out of it on the other side. Sometimes when we go into a brand new situation, with strangers, we fear the unknown. Sometimes there is no reason to even be afraid, but the fear is there to try to protect us from potentially dangerous situations, even when there is no imminent danger or real threat. We didn’t know what to expect, and we were definitely a bit uneasy about getting outside of our comfort zone. I have always been very naturally drawn to earthy spiritual paths, but I have always been turned off by any sort of gathering or congregation (I think my catholic upbringing gave me some PTSD LOL). Being a solitary spiritual seeker, I am very used to kind of just appreciating the earth in my own little ways, so going into a celebration like this was definitely a bit intimidating. However, this was one of those experiences that I had a feeling I would be so grateful for once I had actually gone through with it, and I must admit, I am so glad that we had. We had the opportunity to share some space in a loving environment with 2 new great people who put so much love and hard work into their lovely piece of land and the things that they grow. Thanks to Adrienne and Don for teaching us a little bit about your paths, and enabling us to release our fears into the fire! It was most magickal! And your goats are lovely too!
